Metro’s Labor Day Celebrates a New Permanent Tax on Labor

PORTLAND – Highlighting the economic damage Metro’s new wage tax will inflict on working families, opponents of the permanent $5.2 billion tax on employers and nonprofits launched a Labor Day weekend digital advertisement urging voters to oppose the regressive, job-killing tax. 

“Instead of celebrating Labor Day with a family picnic, Metro wants to tax your labor and cut your family paycheck forever,” said Jeff Reading. “This is the wrong tax on the wrong people at the wrong time.”
